You'll ask, so we might as well tell you
Thanks to an accident of birth that led to them being closely related (and the universe to frequently shake its head asking itself why it allowed this to happen), Jeffrey Stundel and Mitchell Hyman are pleased to be your co-conspirators behind WTF Books.
While Mitchell was doing battle in the trenches of the comic book industry as a writer and creative professional wrangler, Jeffrey was soldiering on in the no-less-perilous warfront of Corporate America as a marketing writer and editor.
Mitchell created the acclaimed independent character and eponymous comic book Bubba the Redneck Werewolf and gained notoriety for his work on the Donald Trump firing issue of Cracked magazine. He also wrote Hitmen in Paradise (soon to be re-released by WTF Books), about two hitmen who find themselves having to use their “conventional” methods to deal with unconventional, supernatural entanglements.
Meanwhile, Jeffrey was making other people look good (and wealthier) by trying to be as creative as allowed (read: not at all) while working in the financial services industry. Fortunately, he had an outlet for his pent-up artistry as the creative director (not to mention acting and singing in the Company’s productions) for Boheme Opera NJ, a not-for-profit arts organization in Central New Jersey. And to keep some variety in his life, he had a short story, newspaper article, etc., or two published.
One day (actually, it wasn’t on the same day; but for creative purposes let’s just say it was), Mitchell and Jeffrey realized that they were wasting their individual talents and time, as well as their love of books and writing. They decided that by combining forces they could put their skills and experience to the best use: to create a boutique publishing firm imagined and executed by writers who understand writers – and readers who understand readers.
